Two scenes from today in South Florida...
At a campus computer lab, about half of the people were doing homework and projects. The other half were at Ticketmaster.com trying to score World Series tickets.
I dropped in for a haircut today and Fran, the great lady who cust my hair, who goes to all the early season games, and has for 6 years, roots, cheers, win or lose, remembers all the plays I do and plenty I don't... is frustrated because she can't get tickets.
It makes me wish there were some kind of 'frequent flyer' program for these things. Keep (voluntary) track of the people who support the team when nobody's looking, and keep a stock of tickets on which they have dibs.
